In an exciting development for the ACT’s arts and events scene, Belgravia Leisure has officially welcomed Erindale Theatre into its national network of managed venues. This partnership marks a new chapter for one of Canberra’s most cherished cultural spaces, which has been serving the community since its opening in 1979.
Belgravia Leisure currently manage six Government owned leisure centres in the ACT, including their newest leisure centre – Erindale Leisure Centre – which is located in Erindale Complex alongside the much-loved Erindale Theatre.
Located in Wanniassa, Erindale Theatre seats 443 people and is widely recognised as one of the ACT’s best-equipped performing arts venues. For more than four decades, it has hosted an impressive range of events from school musicals and local theatre productions to professional performances, seminars and community celebrations.
Belgravia Leisure’s involvement signals a strong future for the theatre, with new investment, strategic direction and a continued focus on community engagement. The theatre is also set to benefit from national expertise in venue management, an expanded events calendar and improved access for the broader community.
The venue will remain open to schools, local organisations and touring productions, with plans to grow its impact across the region.
