Aquatic Safety

At Belgravia Leisure, we all take responsibility for creating and maintaining a safe aquatic environment and way of work for our team and our community.

Proactive aquatic supervision

Our teams follow the Triple A’s for Aquatic Safety philosophy: Be Alert, Be Aware and Active. This approach ensures our aquatic personnel remain vigilant, proactive and fully engaged at all times.

Delivered through dynamic training and regular reinforcement, the Triple A’s focus on preventing incidents before they occur and enabling swift, effective responses if a safety concern arises. This philosophy underpins how we supervise aquatic spaces and protect the safety of all visitors every day.

A strong safety culture

At Belgravia Leisure, safety is guided by our Think Safe, Act Safe, Be Safe methodology. This forms the foundation of a positive, accountable and proactive safety culture across all venues. Our approach considers physical safety, psychosocial wellbeing and child safety, ensuring risks are identified, managed and reviewed consistently. Safety is everyone’s responsibility, embedded into daily operations and supported through ongoing training, leadership and clear expectations.

Accredited systems and regular auditing

Belgravia Leisure’s Safety Management System is accredited to ISO45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System, reflecting our commitment to best practice. Every venue undergoes rigorous internal audits twice a year using the Belgravia Auditing App, with results verified through external third‑party audits. This robust review process ensures safety standards are consistently met, risks are addressed and continuous improvement is embedded across all aquatic facilities.

Child safety and risk management

The safety of children is a priority across all Belgravia Leisure venues. We use a comprehensive, risk‑based child safety framework supported by a dedicated Child Safety Coordinator to ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.

Our commitment includes cultural safety for First Nations children, children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, LGBTQIA+ children and children with disabilities. Clear parental supervision guidelines, contractor screening and technology‑enabled communication further strengthen child safety outcomes.
