Tara’s journey from Park Assistant to Manager with Belgravia Academy

Studying Travel and Tourism through Belgravia Academy has helped Tara White, Park Manager at Coonamble Riverside Holiday Park grow her confidence, leadership and operational skills while balancing life as a mum of four in remote New South Wales.

Tara says the course gave her the tools to step up in her role and manage the park with greater confidence.

“Studying through Belgravia Academy has been really valuable in helping me build confidence in areas like customer service, operations and leadership.

“Balancing study and work were challenging at times, but the skills and knowledge I’ve gained have definitely helped me grow. I’d recommend it to anyone who’s keen to build a career in this industry because it gives you a great foundation to work from.”

Tara’s journey with Belgravia Pro began helping with cleaning and parking caravans at Coonamble before taking on more responsibility. When the opportunity arose to manage the park, Tara put her hand up for the role.

“I already knew the park and our guests well, so it felt like an achievable next step. I wasn’t sure I was ready, but studying travel and tourism really gave me the confidence I needed to take on the new role,” she said.

Since then, Tara has focused on creating memorable guest experiences by introducing touches like complimentary fire buckets and wood in winter, live music in the camp kitchen and a soon-to-launch herb garden near the communal cooking area.

“It’s all about connection and making guests feel at home, even if just for a night or two.”

Tara hopes to continue building her career with Belgravia Pro while staying connected to the community she loves.

“As my kids grow older, I’d love to explore new opportunities with Belgravia, but for now, I’m really enjoying the role and feel I’m exactly where I’m meant to be.

“I’d encourage anyone thinking about studying tourism to give it a go with Belgravia Academy. It’s a great way to grow your skills and be open to new opportunities in this industry.” Tara concluded.
