The fairways at “The Bat” were filled with colour, laughter and plenty of great golf as Yarrambat Park Golf Course hosted its third Rainbow Golf Day, bringing together the LGBTQIA+ community and allies for a welcoming day on the course.
A near full field of around 70 golfers took part in the Ambrose format event, designed to make the game accessible and enjoyable for all.
The event saw returning players and new faces joining together for nine holes of golf before gathering for a BBQ lunch and presentations, celebrating some standout performances.

Venue Manager Matt Weisheit said that the event continues to be one of the most meaningful days on Yarrambat’s calendar.
“Rainbow Golf is easily one of our favourite events that we host at Yarrambat Park Golf Course. The day is a wonderful celebration of diversity, inclusion and the love of golf,” Matt said.
Community Inclusion Coordinator Ali Berechree added that the day highlights the power of working closely with local partners and community groups to create events that genuinely reflect what the community wants.
“Days like this are built through strong relationships with our community and partners including Nillumbik Shire Council. By listening to what people want and creating opportunities like Rainbow Golf Day, we can bring those ideas to life in a way that feels welcoming and meaningful,” Ali said.
While golf brought everyone together, the impact goes well beyond the game, supporting health and wellbeing, strengthening community connections and creating spaces where people feel comfortable and supported.
