When powerful spaces meet powerful people, something special happens. Recently, Wai Ariki Hot Springs and Spa opened its doors for an evening dedicated to connection, conversation and community, hosting more than 100 local business wāhine (women) alongside the Rotorua Business Chamber.
The Women in Business event is held bimonthly by the Rotorua Business Chamber and brings together businesswomen from across the region. Guided by the theme better together, the evening created space for meaningful relationships and fresh perspectives.

As part of the evening, guests enjoyed exclusive behind-the-scenes tours led by Sanctuary Manager Karen, offering insight into the cultural narrative, architectural design and holistic cultural wellness experience that shapes Wai Ariki.
“The Spa Sanctuary proved to be the perfect setting for this event, offering a beautiful environment that is truly unique in Rotorua. As the only space of its kind, the Sanctuary features panoramic views across Lake Rotorua, Mount Ngongotahā and Mokoia Island, creating a setting that encourages connection, reflection and inspiration.”
Marketing Manager Kylie Gunn said the energy in the room reflected the purpose of the evening.
“Wai Ariki came alive with kōrero (conversation), inspiration and the powerful energy of wāhine uplifting wāhine. The atmosphere was warm and vibrant, with a room full of engaged, talented women bringing aroha (love and care), confidence and meaningful new connections to life.”
