Giving second chances is what life’s all about, especially when it means bringing smiles to these furry faces. Instead of letting old netballs, basketballs and soccer balls gather dust, Loftus Recreation Centre has put them to good use by donating them to the Shenton Park Dogs Refuge in Perth and the pups couldn’t be happier!
When the team headed over to the dogs refuge there were wagging tails and slobbery smiles all around as they enjoyed their new play toys.

Loftus team member Chaia Coslett said, “Spending the day at the refuge, we learned about the amazing work the volunteers do, giving dogs a fresh start by helping them find loving forever homes. As a local organisation that’s close to our hearts, Loftus is proud to support the refuge. Many of our team members have dogs themselves and we know just how much love and companionship they bring into our lives.
“We’re committed to continuing our donations every six months and supporting the dogs with drop boxes for items like quality dog food and toys. Plus, we’re excited to create a volunteer team for our social sports competitions and offer gym memberships to nearby volunteers,” Coslett explained.
From courtside to playtime in the park, the old sports balls from Loftus have found their new purpose. We hope these toys bring joy to these furry friends as they wait for their second chance at a loving forever home.
