Adding Golf to the Tradies Toolkit for National Tradies Health Month

August is National Tradies Health Month and in conjunction with the Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA), Keilor Public Golf Course is raising awareness of the benefits of health and wellbeing for tradies in the local community.

Venue Manager, Jack McDonald said, “Raising awareness towards better health for tradies is pivotal at Keilor Public Golf Course. We understand a tradie’s job can be physically and mentally demanding; and may contribute to poor health and injury, which in turn can impact their family and businesses. By encouraging tradies to hit the fairways with half-price rounds on their rostered day off, is a small step towards greater health outcomes.”

As a sport played all year round, the benefits for both physical and mental health are significant when it comes to hitting the fairways. From building cardiovascular wellness to connecting with like-minded people, golf brings communities together, regardless of their experience and abilities.

“We hope by engaging local tradies to put their health first, we are becoming a part of their journey to not only become involved in the game of golf but creating an awareness that golf in itself, is a great value sport to add to their health toolkit,” Jack concluded.
